FAQ

What materials are the sunglasses made from?

The Incus model is made of acetate, one of the highest quality plastics which can be used for sunglass manufacturing.

Acetate is almost a pure natural product. The starting product for this is cotton which is dried in a complex process, milled to cellulose powder, mixed with acetic acid, colored and patterned and then processed into sheets. From these plates, the spectacle frames are then milled. Since acetate is produced from renewable raw materials, it is also known as bioplastic.

Acetate is an allrounder. It is very light, extremely resilient and deformable under heat. Taken together, these properties also provide the advantage that our glasses can adapt at any time to meet different customer needs. In the cold state, the material is consistent, in terms of form, but has the property of being flexible and not brittle.

Are different sizes of the sunglasses available?

All of our products have a "one-size-fits-all" frame. Our sunglasses dimensions can be found in the product description in the shop. Our sunglasses can be customized for your needs perfectly. For this purpose, the frame has to be warmed slightly in order to deform it.

If you feel uncertain, simply visit an optometrist (you trust) for this purpose. They will help you out!

Are my eyes adequately protected?

Your eyes are always well protected. Our sunglasses, both frames and lenses are tested according to DIN EN ISO 12312, the European Directive for sunglasses, to show all important criteria. Our glasses are UV-400 certified.

How do I take care of my sunglasses?

Should the temples of your cloudy get loose, you are welcome to tighten the screw hinge carefully with a small screwdriver.

If you do not have a suitable screwdriver for this purpose, just ask your local optometrist. The lenses can best be cleaned with our supplied microfiber pouch. For persistent dirt, some water can be used to rinse the sunglasses properly. Caution! Avoid any kind of solvents. Dirty cleaning cloths may affect the filter characteristics of the lenses.
